CAMBRIDGE to Sponsor the First Official Draft

Increasing their involvment in the Latrobe Team Premiership, Cambridge has added their name to the first official Draft. Each draftee will receive 2 golf balls as a gift from Cambridge, a gesture of goodwill before the season starts, a calm before the storm, before the thick clouds of competition blow in to blanket Saturday Golf at Latrobe and the sledging will begin in earnest.

The anticipation of the coming season is gathering momentum with the Cambridge Draft being the first major question that Team Captains will need to answer. 64 players have put their 'Chance for Glory' into the melting pot and will strive to put their name in the spotlight over the next 5 weeks. Then, on Saturday Feb 21, they will wait, patiently, for their name to be called and be officially added to their team. It is the team that they will play their hearts out for, over 15 tension packed weeks hoping to secure a place in the finals series. It is that finals berth, that will possibly lead to them forever being known as "A Premiership Player"at Latrobe Golf Club.

On behalf of all in the Premiership, thank you to Cambridge

  1. Hi Tony,

It appears that some players in the draft are doing well in club comps.

Are the relevant results worth putting on the blog?

  3. I have it on good authority that the ferrets have started training for the competition, a prominent member of last years team with the initials Alan lehner put in a card DNF on Sundays stroke round, where is the handicapper, please!

  4. Any truth in the rumour that the best and fairest player this year will come from somebody with a fair dinkum handicap, last year the senior champ preformed very well in the competition each week and never got a vote in the Best and Fairest. “Tough Comp This”

  5. Bo, It is a tough comp and votes are not given away....the key to getting votes is to play better than eveyone else. Maybe a championship win will get the blood pumping through those Scottish veins. His team mates will be looking for a contribution I am sure

Can you please direct any bets on this magnificant event towards the William St TAB. I would be happy accommodate any massive plunges and guide ill-informed punters accordingly....an event sponsorship was also available but your Business Development Manager has obviously been away (either that or Cambridge are paying you too much)...be sure to allow enough room for "Megaloudis" on the trophy...
